Bradford Barnstorm Launches the Ark! - Noye's Fludde Community Project

Blogging from Christina Hall (Intern) on behalf of Bradford Barnstorm, a community partnership set up to explore future creative use of Bradford on Avon’s amazing Tithe Barn. The first project, Benjamin Britten's Noye’s Fludde (Noah’s Flood), will take place there in July 2013. I will be posting updates from meetings, how the planning and pre-production is going, fundraising progress and all the way to the performance days next July.

Bradford.Barnstorm
In celebration of Benjamin Britten’s centenary in 2013, Bradford Barnstorm and its arts partners will collaborate to produce and present public community performances of Britten's community opera, Noye’s Fludde and a new companion work by composer Harvey Brough. The performances will involve the local community of Bradford on Avon and the surrounding area, both adults and young people from the local secondary school and all its feeder primary schools. The project steering group, called Bradford Barnstorm, has been established to oversee the community delivery of the performances which will involve a wide partnership between local people, schools and businesses. The steering group will support the production, take responsibility for the educational elements of the project including facilitating composition workshops in schools, and the commission of the companion piece by Harvey Brough.
